Australian Apprentices
Australian Apprenticeships or Traineeships combine practical, paid employment with structured training to give you a Nationally Recognised Qualification.
An Australian Apprenticeship is an arrangement between an employer, an employee and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) where the employer provides vocational education and training in conjunction with the RTO and the apprentice/trainee learns the occupation/trade. The arrangement is underpinned by a Training Contract that is registered with Australian Apprenticeships NT.
Australian Apprentices must be at least 15 years of age, and may already hold a qualification or part there of. Apprentices/trainees can be employed on a full time or part time basis (subject to appropriate industrial relations arrangements being in place).
Australian Apprenticeships are competency based which means you can complete your training faster if you reach the required skill level. When all competencies have been achieved, you gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification. |
