Parents & Guardians

An Australian Apprentice under the age of 18 years must have the consent of their parent/guardian to enter into an Australian Apprenticeship Training Contract. As the parent/guardian you will be required to sign as a party to their Training Contract.

It is the Apprentice’s responsibility to comply with the requirements of the Training Contract and Training Plan, contribute to their own learning and skills development and in the case of School Based Apprentices work towards attaining school and ASBA outcomes. Parents and guardians should also support their child with the obligations and achievements that come from doing an Australian Apprenticeship.

If your child is 18 years of age or over, they are deemed to be an adult. In this instance, access to an Australian Apprentice’s information by a parent/guardian will require written consent from the Australian Apprentice.

Contact your school’s Careers Advisor or Australian Apprenticeships NT for more information.
